Last weekend we spent an entire weekend in Daytona thanks to the wonderful people at Luna Sands Campground. Friday night we headed to Orlando for a bit of business then boondocked in a parking lot near Harbor Freight which was an interesting story all on it’s own. Saturday when we pulled in to Luna Sands it was exactly what we had hoped for.
The park itself is set up around the natural layout with several pull through sites perfect for our rig. Soon as we hooked up the utilities and offloaded my Harley we headed to find food. Google pointed us to a place called the Soul Cafe in Orange city and we were really pleased. (See Review)
By the time we made the ride through Deland to Daytona it was pretty dark. We parked off main street and walked the strip a bit. You can see quite a bit on our Instagram and of course on FaceBook plus we’ll be posting videos soon. Anyway we window shopped quite a bit and headed back around midnight.
The next day we had an early breakfast and went on a tour of the park. After the tour we decided to join TRA and expand our options for parks nationwide. Anyone that would like a free weekend of camping in Florida shoot me an email at email@example.com and we’ll show you how.
We spent the rest of our time riding backroads to Daytona and exploring lots of places. We also made some great purchases from vendors we’ll be posting in our reviews section including concealed carry leathers, luggage and even seamstress work. Now that we’ve gotten things settled in we can focus more on sharing our experiences and start focusing more efforts towards adoption.
As you know we were in New Jersey for a few weeks and we’ll have some posts about some of the places we visited family including Amish country (Intercourse Pennsylvania). Even though it was a very somber trip we were able to find a bit of solitude and peace in the outdoors. After spending so much time there though we were ready to go home soon after some tearful goodbyes. Saying gooodbye to family is never easy but with our new life plan we’ll be able to see much more of them soon.
We hit the road Southbound in the mini van on Valentines day and intended to drive straight through til we got home but we stopped to visit a friend in North Carolina. After our visit we stopped for dinner at a steakhouse and got back on the road. Somewhere around midnight we both started getting tired but a hotel for a few hours would have been a waste so we opted to hit a rest area for a few hours.
South Carolina rest areas are posted with a 4 hour maximum so I set the alarm and crawled in my sleeping bag while Jo opted for a reclining seat. 4 hours came and went, before I knew it I was seeing a beautiful sunrise out the window and nobody had made us move. We cleaned up a bit and hit the road again. We stopped for breakfast at a great little restaurant called The Omelette Cafe which we’ll tell you about in our upcoming review page. From there we hit Savannah Ga for a bit which we’ll tell you more about soon too!

Hey All, John here.
The night after I made the last post I started working on a few videos and went to bed. That night we received a phonecall that put everything on hold. Joannes mother passed suddenly and unexpectedly so we hit the road northbound as fast as possible. We are currently in New Jersey til at least Feb 12th and we will keep you all posted as much as possible. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and prayers.
